THE FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS

Human rights are norms that outline certain standards of human behavior that are to be upheld and are protected by law. Although these laws exist and apply to all, many people from various places across the world have suffered as a result of their fundamental human rights being violated. Due to this injustice, different groups in the world have come up to advocate for the respect of all human rights.Some of the groups that advocate for human rights are discussed below.

Human rights watch

Human Rights Watch is a non-governmental organization that advocates for human rights in the whole world. It was founded in 1978 with a sole purpose of becoming the voice of justice in the world. Since its inception, the human rights watch has been instrumental in upholding and advocating for human rights.

During the Soviet war in the 1970s, the human rights watch was relentless in voicing out the various violations of human rights by governments in Europe. These, in turn, contributed to democracy in the region.

Currently, the human rights watch has grown and broadened its boundaries to cover the violation of human rights in various aspects. The Hellman/Hammett grant Is a financial aid that is given to writers who advocate for human rights in the world.

Through this, the human rights watch has been able to give voice to writers who have been silenced by abusive governments. Besides, the human rights watch honors activists who have demonstrated courage in their fight for human rights with the human rights defender award that is presented annually.

Lacey and Larkin Frontera fund

The Lacey and Larkin Frontera fund was founded by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin. Mr. Lacey and Mr. Larkin are two journalists who fight for immigrant rights in Arizona and the Mexican border. They formed this organization after their unlawful arrest and victimization by police officers.

The Lacey and Larkin Frontera fund provide financial aid to various agencies that advocate for human, civil, and migrant rights in Arizona.

Besides,Lacey and Larkin, run a blog that educates migrant on their fundamental human rights and therefore eliminates violations of human rights.

Through this organization, various non-governmental organizations like the Arizona Justice Project, Raul Castro Institute,and the Kino Border Initiative have benefitted from the financial aid.

Every human being has rights, and it is essential for us to uphold the human rights. Although human rights are still violated in various parts of the world, these organizations have helped to minimize these cases injustices. The Human Rights Watch and the Larkin and Lacey Frontera fund have both contributed immensely to justice in the world.
